Companies seem to be focusing on talent as much as position when interviewing job candidates. It’s not just a matter of are you right for the company but is the company right for you. The top 10 companies for interviews seemed to ask some form of the question “Why do you want to work for us?” Is this just an icebreaker… Not so. Much can be learned about an applicant’s motivation and whether they know anything about the company itself. As an employer you need to be finding out what potential employees know and what they are willing to learn about both the company and its needs but also about themselves and their attitudes and skills, preferably before they are on the payroll.
