Complete Shielding (S/STP)
Complete shielding is known as S/STP and is a little different to overall shielding. In S/STP Ethernet cables, not only are all the wires shielded by an overall foil but each individual pair is also covered. This style of shielding means that there will be little to no external interference to and from nearby cables. However, although this will stop external interference, the main purpose of this cable is to prevent internal interference between the pairs. Saying this, it has been theorized that the inner layers also may further help with external interference.
Make Sure to Have Proper Grounding
When you setup a shielded Ethernet cable you need to make sure that the shield has grounded connections. This is more important than it might first seem because improper grounding could result in loop currents and Ethernet signal interference. In fact, if you have really bad grounding you could actually increase the electromagnetic charge of the signal leading to external interference to neighboring electronics.
